Southbound Interstate 25 closed for a while and then reduced to one lane near the Colfax Avenue ramp after a two-vehicle accident this afternoon.
Emergency crews closed the lanes around 3:30 p.m., said Detective John White, a spokesman for the Denver Police Department.
All lanes of the highway finally reopened by 8 p.m.
A vehicle was traveling southbound when it lost control and hit a large truck. The vehicle was carrying several people including a small child.
The child was taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition.
No additional injuries were reported.
