BASALT, Colo.—Pitkin County is holding a meeting in Basalt to discuss recommendations on winter closures on federal lands.

Officials with Colorado Parks and Wildlife will hear opinions Wednesday on recommended winter closures by the federal Bureau of Land Management and the impact on wildlife and habitat.

The proposed closures include the Crown, Light Hill and Arbaney Mesa.

Both the county and wildlife officials have recommended winter closures on those parcels for the BLM’s proposed Resource Management Plan.
