Denver should be 10 degrees warmer tomorrow than it was on Wednesday, but the National Weather Service said tonight another Colorado storm could be taking shape in parts of California, Nevada and Arizona.
“A potent storm system forming in the Great Basin to move across the region early next week,” the National Weather Service stated in its updated forecast. “The eventual path and strength of this storm system remains uncertain.
“However latest indications suggest that the best chance for snow will occur Sunday night through Monday. Drier and slightly warmer conditions should return to the outlook on Tuesday.”
Sunny skies and daytime temperatures in the 30s are expected at ski resorts from Gunnison to Steamboat Springs the next few days.
Denver topped out at 31 degrees today under overcast skies. Thursday, sunny skies return and the forecast is for a high of 40 degrees. The 30-average high for the date is 46 degrees.
Forecasters expect temperatures in the mid-40s this weekend, before the storm, if it pans out, rolls in Sunday night or Monday.
