FOUNTAIN, Colo.—Questions are being raised after the Colorado Department of Transportation started building a wildlife fence on Interstate 25 near Fountain that will cost about $1 million.

Transportation officials say the project will also include cattle guards and ramps for animals to get across the interstate highway.

Critics say it is a waste of tax dollars and it’s up to drivers to be careful.

According to KRDO-TV ( ), the transportation department says the project will be finished by the end of June.
