Party with Buffalo Bill. The free Buffalo Bill Birthday Party, featuring contests, music, presentations and special vendors, will take place noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Rock Rest Lodge and Restaurant in Golden. Come celebrate two Buffalo Bills’ birthdays: Col. Al Huffman’s, Colorado’s best-known Buffalo Bill re-enactor, and the real Bill Cody’s annual get-together.

Dance in Crested Butte. The Move the Butte dance production will take place March 2-3 at the Crested Butte Center for the Arts. Local artists, dancers and choreographers of all ability levels come together to put on a performance incorporating multiple dance styles. Tickets are $15 for adults, $7 for kids. Shows will be at 8 p.m March 2, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. March 3.

Kayaks on Snow. The seventh annual Kayaks on Snow event will take place April 7 at Monarch. Contestants race head to head, similar to Skier Cross, down a specially designed course that ends in an icy pond. skimonarch.com or 888-996-7669 x-5050

It’s all uphill. Challenge Aspen will host the Chris Bove Memorial Uphill Challenge, an uphill race and walk-athon at Buttermilk Ski Area starting at 7:30 a.m. March 3. Racers and hikers of all ages, on skis, snowshoes or other uphilling gear, can participate in the family-friendly uphill race and walk-athon to benefit Challenge Aspen’s Chris Bove Memorial Scholarship. challenge aspen.org or 970-923-0578
