DENVER—An 85-pound Argentine mastiff dog that was impounded after viciously biting a Denver television news anchor is back home with its owner after 10 days of mandatory quarantine.
Kyle Dyer of KUSA-TV ( ) received 70 stitches after she was bitten in the face while doing an on-air segment with the dog’s owner and a firefighter who had rescued the pet from an icy pond in suburban Lakewood the day before.
The dog’s owner, Michael Robinson, tells the television station getting his dog Max back Saturday was “like having a new birth in the family.” He says he hasn’t spoken with Dyer but hopes she gets well soon.
Robinson is due in court Feb. 29 after he was cited with failure to have his dog on a leash and allowing his dog to bite.
