LINCOLN, Neb.—Former Nebraska track star Rhonda Blanford-Green is the new executive director of the Nebraska School Activities Association.

Blanford-Green has been the associate commissioner of the Colorado High School Activities Association for the past 16 years. The NSAA Board of Directors approved her hiring in an 8-0 vote last week.

Blanford-Green was a a four-time NCAA champion hurdler and sprint relay team member for the Cornhuskers in the 1980s and a two-time U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier. She graduated from the University of Wyoming and the University of Phoenix-Colorado.

Blanford-Green has served on several National Federation of State High School Association committees. She’ll join the NSAA on July 1.
