Sabi Sushi, a downtown Denver sushi delivery service that billed itself as the restaurant without a restaurant, has ceased operation.
The company was started by a trio of Duke University pals that pooled $6,000 to create the online order and delivery service where sushi was prepared in a commercial kitchen then delivered to a drop zone in front of the World Trade Center on the 16th Street Mall.
The goal was to create a clientele of downtown workers willing to step away from their desks to pick up sushi they ordered on . But the Web site no longer connects, and the last post on the company blog was dated Sept. 30, 2011.
According to Facebook, two of the partners — Shaan Puri and Trevor Ragan — have moved to Brisbane, Australia.
