Getting your player ready...
Mark Falender has been skiing for 24 years. He has been a patroller at Snowmass ski area for eight years. Here are a few of his favorite things:
Favorite run at Snowmass: Gowdy’s.
Most rewarding aspect of the job: I spend a lot of time each season training other patrollers in lift evacuation, high-angle rescue and avalanche education. It’s awesome to see how dedicated ski patrollers are about learning the skills that help us do our job better.
Best safety or awareness tip: Pay attention! It’s not cool to collide with other skiers or riders. We see it all the time. It’s never pretty and almost always avoidable.
