An Edgewater man pleaded guilty Tuesday to firing off more than 350 rounds from a semiautomatic pistol, pinning down officers and neighbors for hours last April 4.

Lupo Wolf Solazzo, 26, told authorities he was firing his 9mm pistol from his bedroom window because earlier, when he was at friend’s home, drinking, he was attacked by a man who wanted money for drugs, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday afternoon, in announcing Tuesday’s plea deal.

“Solazzo said the guy knocked him out and when he came to he went home and got his gun to protect himself from the guy,” prosecutors stated. Solazzo’s mother, sister and three young children were inside the home at 2010 Marshall St. during the barrage.

Solazzo pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted first-degree assault with extreme indifference. He faces 10 to 32 years in prison at his March 19 sentencing.
