The new show Rachel Crow is developing with Nickelodeon will be a comedy and feature singing, the 14-year-old Crow told the Times-Call in an interview Wednesday.
Her management company announced Wednesday morning that Nickelodeon had signed her to an overall talent deal that includes plans for a series for Crow. The announcement said Crow also has been signed by Columbia Records/Syco. Syco is a joint venture of Sony Music and Simon Cowell, creator of singing competition series “The X Factor,” where Crow last year was among the top five contestants and became an audience favorite before being eliminated during a dramatic episode.
The 14-year-old Crow grew up in Mead. Her family still lives in the town while Crow spends most of her time in California pursuing her entertainment career.
Crow said the Nickelodeon show is still in the early stages of development, and details such as its name, her character’s name and what the show’s about have yet to be determined.
