The Air Force men made history Saturday at the Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships in Albuquerque, claiming their first Mountain West title with 156½ points. The Falcons trailed Boise State by 1½ points heading into the final event and won the title when the 4 x 400-meter relay team (Manny Smith, Anthony Delgado, Jake Spuller, Bryce Bergman) won the race — and set an academy record (3:10.67).

Grizzlies sweep RMAC track titles. The Adams State men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams swept the team titles at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships in Chadron, Neb.

The title is the 11th straight for the Grizzlies women and the seventh in the last nine years for the Grizzlies men.

Podium for CU’s Medina.  University of Colorado senior Richard Medina ran the third-fastest indoor 3,000-meter time (7:53.02) in school history and finished third at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Track and Field Championships in Seattle.

Nordic ace Elliott wins at Birkebeiner. Tad Elliott of Durango won the men’s freestyle race in the American Birkebeiner in Hayward, Wis.
