The search for a missing child at the center of an Amber Alert lasted nine hours. The mother of the child says it seemed like five days.
Nine-month-old Naveah Lopez was taken Sunday night, along with the car she was left in by her mother.
Naveah’s aunt, Lorena Gallegos, says Naveah was hospitalized after she was found. The man she was with, Peter Madrid, was arrested. Madrid is the cousin of Naveah Lopez’s mother.
Monique Gallegos is relieved to have her child back.
“Who knows if he fed her?” she said. “Like I don’t even know and it just hurts me that, as a mom, to know like my child is just out there and I can’t do anything but sit and wait.”
