CASTLE ROCK, Colo.—A woman who claims she was sexually assaulted by former Denver Broncos cornerback Perrish Cox is the first witness in a trial that could send him to prison for life.
The Denver Post reports () the woman testified about the night of the alleged assault in September 2010. Jurors also heard audio from a phone call the woman made to Cox while police listened.
The woman, whose name is not being published by The Associated Press because she’s an alleged victim of a sexual crime, is expected to continue her testimony Wednesday.
He has pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual assault while the victim was physically helpless, and one count of sexual assault while the victim was incapable of determining the nature of the conduct.
