HIGHLANDS RANCH — Alex Kozan saw no reason to hurry, be first and find himself rushed into making a decision.
He knew he had time, so why not use it?
The offensive lineman at Class 4A Valor Christian said Monday that he will play for Auburn. “It’s the best place where I can go to better myself as a person and player,” he said.
In January, it appeared that Kozan, a 6-foot-4, 295-pound tackle, would sign with Iowa. He also considered Michigan. But he changed his mind.
Kozan was an All-Colorado selection by The Denver Post in 2011 and was rated among the top recruits in the nation by various services. He recently was honored as a scholar-athlete by the Colorado chapter of the National Football Foundation.
He may enroll at Auburn with an undeclared major but is considering business and marketing.
His new teammates will include Chaparral offensive tackle Shane Callahan, who graduated early from the Parker high school and is at Auburn now.
