Obesity walk. The Walk From Obesity event in Grand Junction is scheduled for March 24 at 9:30 a.m. This event raises awareness for the obesity problem in the United States. You can register as an individual or form a team with friends. Online registration is $25; day-of registration is $35.
Aspen Shortsfest. The Aspen Shortsfest is slated for April 10-15. This showcase is an Oscar-qualifying international competition for narrative, animated and documentary shorts, all only 40 minutes or less in length. General-admission tickets will be $13 each. or 866-449-0464
High-country obstacle course. The CopperMan 3K Obstacle Race will take place April 14. The course consists of frozen obstacles and also includes a Hot Chocolate Pit Cross and Human Luge. The race ends in Center Village where live music, a beer garden and food will be available.
Greeley Jazz Festival. The 42nd Annual UNC/Greeley Jazz Festival, April 19-21, brings together more than 7,500 participants for concerts, daytime performances, workshops and after-hours sessions. All day-time performances and educational workshops are free and open to the public. or 970-351-2515
