LOVELAND – — Front Range On Track, a group that has assumed a low profile since its formation three years ago, is leveraging some of the attention paid recently to similar rail plans in Boulder County and north metro-Denver to draw some to its own efforts.
“The sooner passenger rail can be developed, the more people will know about the effectiveness of it,” said Rob Osborne, owner of Avogadro’s Number, the Fort Collins restaurant that will play host to the Front Range On Track fundraiser.
“When we have this gathering on Sunday, it will be mostly people who are in favor of passenger rail. But we’d like to see others who are curious about it.”
The backbone of the system Front Range On Track advocates is already in place, with freight rails owned by the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe linking cities, including Loveland, along a route stretching from Cheyenne to Denver.
