YUMA, Colo.—Archer Daniels Midland Co. is permanently closing two bean-drop off sites in Colorado and Wyoming.
Company spokeswoman Jessie McKinney said Tuesday that the edible bean facilities in Yuma, Colo. and Garland, Wyo. will close on June 30. Farmers drop off beans at the facilities after harvesting them.
ADM said the decision is the result of challenging conditions in the dry bean market.
Five people will lose their jobs at the Yuma site and one person will also be laid off in Garland.
ADM said they will get severance packages and help finding other jobs.
