Two more retail events are helping get Denverites in the mood for the Yves Saint Laurent retrospective opening March 25 at the Denver Art Museum:

Dan Sharp is known for carrying designer furs as well as select ready-to-wear lines. But also among his passions is vintage designer jewelry from the likes of Chanel and Christian Dior. Sharp has assembled a selection of YSL jewelry from the 1960s-1980s that he’s featuring at his Cherry Creek North boutique. Necklaces such as the Moroccan coin design, above, cuffs and earrings are among the designs, $500-$8,000. Sharp has a colleague in Paris who helps him locate the increasingly rare pieces. “They are collectors’ items, often passed down within a family, so you can’t find them at sales.” YSL sale, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. today through Saturday, 218 Steele St., 303-333-6666; dansharp

Meanwhile, Max Martinez, owner of the three local MAX stores, is hosting a YSL trunk show today and Friday at his Cherry Creek North location, 264 Detroit St. Included will be evening gowns, cocktail dresses, ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., 303-321-4949;
