DENVER—Wisconsin goalie Joel Rumpel made 28 saves in shutting out Denver 1-0 Friday in the first round of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs.
The Badgers (17-16-2) go for the sweep and a spot in the WCHA Final Five on Saturday.
Wisconsin outshot the Pioneers 30-28, including a 15-5 edge in the third period.
