LOVLEAND – —Part of the rationale for what was called the Rialto Bridge, the new three-story building in the heart of downtown Loveland, was to ignite a renaissance of design improvements for nearby buildings.
Those intentions are bearing fruit with a slate of three city-sponsored facelifts for downtown buildings, including the one immediately next door to Next Door, the new restaurant in the Rialto Theater Center.
The two-story building at 212 E. Fourth St., built in 1904 but remodeled several times over the past century, will be restored to historic authenticity.
“We want to get the facade work going as soon as possible,” said owner Earl Sethre, who bought the building last year and is now engaged in an inside-out restoration. “We’re looking at $40,000 to $50,000 for that work.”
