Former Colorado high school athletes have been inducted into distinguished halls of fame.

Karo Isajan a former state champion diver at Smoky Hill in Aurora, made it into La Salle’s hall in Philadelphia by becoming the first Explorer to qualify for the NCAA championships in 20 years when he was a senior, in 2007. He was springboard champion in the NCAA’s Zone A and won five Atlantic 10 championships.

Also, former Golden and Chadron (Neb.) State competitor Leon Durbin made it into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame for lifetime service, in Reno, Nev.

Durbin coached Virgin Valley High School in Mesquite, Nev., to four consecutive team titles, dozens of others to individual crowns and was active on multiple levels for two decades.
