BRECKENRIDGE — Workers broke ground Monday on the largest single-family home in town. The 15,000-square-foot, five-bedroom, eight-bath home will include a two-lane bowling alley, media room, game room, bar, wine cellar, library, exercise rooms, three-car garage, a “drying closet” and three laundry rooms — all on three levels connected by an elevator on an acre lot in the Shock Hill neighborhood.
“All of the bedroom suites are as large as master suites in most homes in Breckenridge,” architect Michael Gallagher said in a statement released Tuesday. He said
more than 20 subcontractors will employ as many 150 workers.
Cabinets are coming from Cutting Edge Woodworking in Leadville. The home’s stone and wood flooring is being supplied by Telluride Stone. Interior design, structural and mechanical engineering, landscaping, audio and video systems, and lighting are all being provided from Colorado companies.
