Finding the most environmentally responsible way to dispose of that compostable coffee cup or box of leftovers just got a little easier, at least along Pearl Street in Boulder.

The city has launched a pilot program to test public composting at three locations along the popular pedestrian mall.

The new bins — marked with green bands and the word “compost” written in big, white letters — are on Pearl Street at 10th Street, 13th Street and between Broadway and 11th Street.
