Most large Front Range waters except Carter and Horsetooth have opened their ramps to boaters. With walleye beginning to spawn, anglers are targeting them off riprap dam faces (where permitted) and rocky structures. Jerkbaits that are worked during low light and windy conditions are producing. Smaller waters are prime areas to fish for largemouth bass. Tube jigs, plastics and jig’n’pig worked slowly are producing. South Park and Grand Lake area waters continue to sport a good ice cap. Fishing has improved over the past two weeks with the melting ice, but use caution, as shorelines may have thin ice.
