GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Grand Junction police have obtained an arrest warrant for the father of a baby who died last June.
The warrant for 34-year-old Dartanin Mitchell lists charges of child abuse resulting in death and child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury.
He is being held in the Denver jail in connection with aggravated robbery charges there.
Mitchell’s five-week-old son, Lucius Mitchell, died last June after being removed from life support at a hospital in Denver, where he was taken May 27. The Daily Sentinel reports () doctors found the boy had severe head injuries and several broken bones.
An affidavit says Mitchell was alone with his son the afternoon of May 27 while the baby’s mother was taking her parents to their home.
