Two Larimer County medical doctors accused of giving medical marijuana recommendations to undercover officers who admitted they didn’t have health problems were arrested for attempting to influence a public servant, a felony.
Dr. Dallas Williams, 73, of Milliken, who practices at the InHarmony Wellness Center in Windsor and Dr. Joseph Montante, 63, of Longmont who practices at the Dr. Green Blossom Wellness Center in Loveland each posted $3,500 bond after their arrests on Thursday.
Larimer County investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, the North Metro Drug Task Force and the Colorado Attorney General received a tip the doctors were giving out recommendations for people without ailments, authorities said.
Undercover officers visited the doctors and said they had no medical conditions and still obtained the recommendations, authorities said.
The doctors couldn’t be reached for comment on Friday afternoon.
Colorado Medical Board records show in 2009 Williams received a written reprimand for allowing an esthetician to perform procedures in a clinic that she was not authorized to do.
The records also show Montante and the state Medical Board reached a discpilinary stipulation in the 1990s, but specifics about what he got in trouble for were not readily available because the records are not electronic.
