MOFFAT, Colo.—The Colorado Division of Financial Services has discontinued operations of Saguache County Credit Union after determining it was insolvent.
The division said Friday that customers shouldn’t see any interruptions in services because Aventa Credit Union of Colorado Springs has agreed to purchase and assume membership shares and assets of Saguache County Credit Union.
Former members of Saguache County Credit Union are now members of Aventa Credit Union and remain federally insured up to $250,000.
Saguache County Credit Union served 3,185 members and had about $17 million in assets when it was liquidated. Aventa now has about 21,000 members following the changes Friday. It has $135 million in assets.
Saguache County Credit Union’s website was sending visitors to Aventa’s site Friday night.
