A tanker truck carrying about 5,000 gallons of unleaded gasoline overturned on Interstate 76 at East 96th Avenue today, spilling its load slowly, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The truck is losing fuel at a rate of one to two gallons a minute, said Colorado State Patrol spokesman Trooper Josh Lewis. The accident happened just before 5 p.m.
He said there were no serious injuries, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
Interstate 76 is not currently closed, but motorists are encouraged to avoid the area or expect delays.
