DENVER—Marchers in Denver are planning to converge on Civic Center Park to protest the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Florida.

According to the Denver Post ( ), the march on Monday is part of a campaign to promote racial understanding.

On Sunday, hundreds of people gathered at the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial statue in Denver’s City Park for a peaceful memorial for the youth who died on Feb. 26.

Martin was killed by the neighborhood watch captain, 28-year-old George Zimmerman. The youth was shot as he walked home from the store with a bag of Skittles and ice tea, wearing a hoodie.
