Construction will begin in August on Alta City House, a $62 million luxury apartment development west of Union Station.
Wood Partners LLC and East West Partners, developer of Riverfront Park, have a deal with USAA Real Estate Co. to finance the five-story project at 1802 Chestnut St. The 280-unit complex, to include one- two- and three-bedroom floorplans, will occupy the full city block between 18th and 19th streets on Chestnut within 100 feet of the new light-rail station. Apartments will range from 645 square feet for a one-bedroom unit to 1,227 square feet for two bedrooms.
The community will feature a two-story fitness center, cyber cafe, two-story club room, game room, two outdoor courtyards — one with a pool and outdoor fireplace — and a large roof deck with a year-round outdoor kitchen.
The first residents are expected to move into the project in September 2013.
