Getting your player ready...

On Sunday, three hot cable series will return to Showtime — bringing with them considerable star power.

“Nurse Jackie” launches season 4 at 7 p.m. with our favorite pill-popping nurse (Edie Falco) facing changes personal and professional. For starters, the hospital has been purchased by a multinational corporation, and the new boss (Bobby Canavale) has big ideas.

At 7:30, “The Big C” returns for Season 3 with Cathy (Laura Linney) having dodged a bullet. Now she’s ready to live a little.

At 8 p.m., “The Borgias” are back for Season 2, and the crazy- mean crime family (led by Jeremy Irons) is as nasty as ever. The Denver Post
