GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Police in Grand Junction have arrested a woman accused of seeking to have her husband killed.
Forty-five-year-old Deone Marie Graham was being held without bond Friday on charges of criminal solicitation to commit first-degree murder and inducing consumption of controlled substances by fraudulent means.
Police began investigating her after a witness said Graham had asked the witness to buy illegal drugs for her so that Graham could put the drugs in her husband’s whiskey bottle and poison him.
Police say it appears Graham wanted to collect her husband’s 401K and retirement money and make it appear as if her husband had died accidentally.
It’s not clear if Graham has an attorney who can comment on her behalf. She did not return a message seeking comment Friday.
