BOULDER, Colo.—Boulder officials say it could cost the city a pretty penny to maintain a buffalo herd as a tourist attraction.

A study by Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks Department estimates that maintaining the herd along a main road south of the city would cost up to $650,000 to set up and another $100,000 a year.

Broadcast magnate Ted Turner owns a restaurant in the city and wants to donate the herd.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera ( ), the issue will be discussed Wednesday at a meeting of the Open Space Board of Trustees.
