A bicyclist in Boulder landed in jail over the weekend on suspicion of drunken driving.
On Sunday at about 12:35 a.m. Boulder police were called to Arapahoe Avenue and 30th Street on a report of bicycle colliding with a vehicle, according to the Boulder Police Department crime blotter.
“The bicycle rider allegedly tried to leave the scene before police arrived,” according to the blotter. “He admitted to having had a number of alcoholic drinks.”
The 30-year-old bicyclist was taken to a local hospital, treated for minor injuries, released and then arrested, police said, on suspicion of DUI on a bicycle. The suspect was not identified.
The driver of the motor vehicle was not cited or charged.
