Frontier Airlines has begun layoffs in its Milwaukee operations as the carrier refocuses business to its Denver hub.
The layoffs, announced in mid-February and begun on Sunday, involve 446 positions. However, 230 Milwaukee-based pilots and flight attendants who are employed by Frontier’s parent company, Republic Airways, will be re-assigned elsewhere in that system.
Also subject to the Milwaukee layoffs are employees in catering, customer service, maintenance, ground support and inspection.
