DENVER—State Treasurer Walker Stapleton says an email from an aide offering support for other political candidates was an honest mistake.
Stapleton, who is a Republican, says the aide is new and was not aware of rules barring the use of state time and equipment for campaigning.
According to the Denver Post ( ), one of the emails went to a Democrat, Rep. Daniel Kagan of Cherry Hills Village, who says he welcomes Stapleton’s support.
