DENVER—University of Colorado regents have unanimously approved a 5 percent tuition increase for in-state undergraduate students in Boulder next fall.
That’s lower than hikes of either 8.6 percent or 6.7 percent that administration officials had proposed for in-state students.
The Daily Camera reports () regents agreed on the smaller tuition hike Thursday after approving only $8 million for a tuition-funded salary pool for staff raises instead of $12 million.
The 5 percent increase means full-time, in-state students in the College of Arts and Sciences on the Boulder campus will pay $8,056 in tuition next school year, up from $7,672 this year.
Rates for incoming non-resident students will increase by 3.8 percent to $29,946. Tuition for graduate students will increase by 3.8 percent.
Full-time in-state undergraduate tuition will rise 4.9 percent at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs to $7,050.
Base tuition at the University of Colorado-Denver will rise by 0.8 percent.
