COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—El Paso County residents are upset after getting an alert for a missing teenager and no update that the girl had been found.

The alert went out late Tuesday and the 14-year-old girl was quickly located, but some people were not told they could stop looking.

An El Paso County dispatcher tells KKTV-TV ( ) authorities didn’t want to disrupt people’s lives more than necessary and they didn’t want to send an update during the middle of the night.
