FORT CARSON, Colo.—About 200 Fort Carson soldiers who have spent the past year in Afghanistan are back in Colorado.
Fort Carson held a homecoming ceremony for them early Thursday. The soldiers in the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, spent the year conducting humanitarian aid projects and training the Afghan National Army and the Afghan Uniformed Police.
About 70 other soldiers from the unit returned home earlier in April. The rest of the brigade is scheduled to return over the next several weeks.
