You won’t know which way to turn at the National Western Complex as the 10th annual Great Western Alpaca Show is held in conjunction with the sixth annual Denver Fiber Fiesta,
Friday through May 6. Fiber fans can view demonstrations of spinning, felting and knitting along with visits to vendor booths and a special hands-on area for kids. Alpacas from more than 300 farms in 29 states will compete. You can visit with more than 1,000 alpacas and their owners. Visit the website for details.

The Rocky Mountain Bead Society brings its annual Bead Bazaar to the Denver Merchandise Mart this weekend. Classes, sales and displays from more than 90 vendors are included. A collection of crafty talent
The Colorado Arts and Crafts Society presents “A Gathering of the Guilds,” a showcase of talented Colorado artisans working in ceramics, wood, glass, jewelry and more, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. The Wildlife Experience hosts a Colorado State Parks Expo complete with a scavenger hunt and activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. Visitors can find information on fishing, camping, kayaking, hiking, boating, birding and more offered at our 42 state parks. Park rangers will be on hand to answer questions. Be sure to check out the new exhibit “Are We There Yet? A Journey from Arizona to Alaska” that includes paintings, sculptures and interactive displays.
