GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Authorities say a Westminster man whose body was pulled from the Colorado River near Rifle was suspected of stealing a vehicle and was wanted on suspicion of violating parole.
The Garfield County Coroner’s Office has identified the man as 41-year-old Randall Clark Mayhew, whose body was discovered Thursday morning.
New Castle police believe Mayhew stole a vehicle and tried to escape by jumping into the Colorado River on April 16. The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel ( ) reports he also had an active arrest warrant—obtained by the Colorado Department of Corrections—on suspicion of violating parole.
