Aug. 2, 2011: The FBI says Ryan Edward Dougherty (DAHK’-or-tee), 21, Dylan Stanley-Dougherty, 26, and Grace Lee E. Dougherty, 29, shoot at a police officer in Zephyrhills, Fla., during a five-mile chase at speeds up to 100 mph and disabled his car. The officer is not injured.
Aug. 2, 2011: Some 210 miles to the north, the FBI says three armed suspects wearing masks enter a Valdosta, Ga., bank, fire shots into the ceiling and grab money. Their weapons are described as an AK-47 type assault rifle and an automatic pistol.
Aug. 4, 2011: A federal magistrate in Macon, Ga., issues arrest warrants for the Dougherty siblings. Police post their photos on electronic billboards across the Southeast. Citizens report spotting the car near Forsyth, Ga., and Chattanooga, Tenn.
Aug. 5, 2011: The siblings’ mother, Barbara Bell of East Palatka, Fla., urges her children to turn themselves in.
Aug. 9, 2011: Colorado Springs police say they have “credible information” that people matching the description of the three were seen buying camping equipment at a sporting goods store.
Aug. 10, 2011:—The manhunt ends with a 20-mile police chase on Interstate 25 in southern Colorado. Shots are fired at officers before the suspects’ car rolls and crashes into a guard rail in Walsenburg, 150 miles south of Denver. Authorities say Lee Grace Dougherty was shot in the leg after she pointed a gun at a police officer. Police recover two AK-47 assault rifles and a MAC-11 pistol.
Dec. 15, 2011: The siblings are indicted in Georgia on charges of bank robbery and other federal crimes.
Jan. 27, 2012: Colorado authorities say Dylan Stanley-Dougherty got out of his jail cell and delivered a note to his sister telling her he was going to break her out of jail. Deputies find a homemade knife in his cell.
Feb. 9, 2012: Lee Grace Dougherty pleads guilty to one count of attempted first-degree assault and two counts of felony menacing.
Feb. 16, 2012: Dylan Stanley-Dougherty pleads guilty to one charge of first-degree assault. Ryan Dougherty pleads guilty to five counts of menacing.
April 30, 2012: The siblings are sentenced in Walsenburg, Colo.
May 15, 2012: Federal court hearing for the siblings in Albany, Ga.
