COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A teen who crashed her vehicle into a tree in Colorado Springs is blaming miller moths for the accident.
According to The Gazette (), the 18-year-old said she was distracted by miller moths while driving Tuesday, causing her veer off the road.
Her SUV hit a tree, breaking a fuel line and causing gas to pour from the vehicle. Witnesses were able to pull her from the driver’s side window before it erupted in flames.
She only suffered minor injuries. Drugs and alcohol aren’t suspected in the crash.
Miller moths have migrated to the Front Range early this year due to an unusually mild winter.
