SPRING VALLEY – — A controversial natural-gas compressor station proposed for a site on the Colorado Mountain College (CMC) campus here will be the topic at two meetings today on campus.

Two “informational meetings” are scheduled for the Student Services Recker Room, one at 2 p.m. and the other beginning at 6 p.m., according to a statement from CMC public relations official Debra Crawford.

Each meeting is scheduled to last about an hour and a half, and both are to be attended by school officials as well as representatives of SourceGas, the natural-gas distribution company behind the proposal.

The controversial site that was proposed originally has generated considerable opposition, leading to meetings among college officials, students and neighbors living in the area around the campus.
