DENVER—A U.S. Marine Corps reservist who fatally shot a fellow reservist has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Barton Enoch of Loveland was sentenced Friday in the shooting of 24-year-old Benton Brubaker at a gathering of reservists at an Aurora condo last September. Enoch pleaded guilty in March to criminally negligent homicide.
KUSA-TV in Denver reports () a judge told Enoch shortly before sentencing that he believed the Marine was playing some sort of equivalent of Russian roulette. Enoch’s attorney Pamela Mackey denied the involvement of any such game and said Enoch couldn’t remember specifics of the shooting.
