DENVER—Two Denver police officers who shot and killed a suspect after a violent robbery at a cellphone store will not be disciplined.
The District Attorney’s office ruled last November the officers were justified in shooting 24-year-old Mark Sepulveda after he pointed his gun at them Oct. 18. The Denver Post ( ) reports the city’s Office of the Manager of Safety conducted its own review of the case and concluded that no discipline is required.
Investigators say Sepulveda had fired his weapon inside the store, then tried to carjack two vehicles, firing into one of them and putting a gun in another driver’s face.
Sepulveda and his alleged accomplice, 21-year-old Justin Martinez, were suspects in a murder case in Lakewood.
Martinez is in custody and is set to appear in court June 4.
