COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Colorado Springs Utilities has agreed to meet with business leaders who want a coal-fired power plant near downtown shops to be shut down.

Businessman Richard Skorman says clouds of steam from the plant are driving away developers and customers.

According to the Colorado Springs Gazette ( ), the city-owned utility has invested $30 million in an emissions-purifying device and will meet with business groups to talk about their request before taking further action.
