Google announced today it will present a two-day seminar beginning Monday to help Colorado businesses get online.
The free event, at which Google staff will provide Colorado business owners free website set up and other services, will be held at the Cable Center, 2000 Buchtel Boulevard, Denver.
In addition to the free website setup, Colorado businesses will attend sessions devoted to growing and promoting their businesses online.
“The perception that getting online is complex, costly and time-consuming has prevented many Colorado small businesses from taking the first step,” said Scott Levitan, director of Small Business Engagement at Google. “This program makes it fast, easy and free for businesses to get online.”
Google said it worked with local partners to design the program, which will help drive economic growth by giving Colorado businesses the tools and resources to establish a website, find new customers, and grown their business.
“Increasing the number of small businesses online is one of the best ways to expand the Colorado economy,” it said.
Event partners will include Intuit, SCORE, the Colorado Small Business Development Center, the Colorado National Federation of Independent Businesses, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Colorado Nonprofit Association.
“As a leading provider of small business solutions, we have witnessed the growth small businesses have seen from getting online,” said Megan Bhattacharyya, product manager at Intuit.
Kelly Manning, state director of the Colorado Small Business Development Center, said the Colorado SBDC received the national award for innovation and excellence in 2012.
“We are thrilled to help all entrepreneurs become more innovative and creative with their online presence,” said Manning.
The official event kick-off is at 8 a.m. Monday with U.S. Sen. Mark Udall.
