Dropoff and pickup areas for taxis, RTD buses, parking lot shuttles and other ground transportation will change starting Saturday at Denver International Airport.
The changes are caused by impending realignment of bridges to accommodate the South Terminal Redevelopment Program, which includes construction of a 500-room hotel, commuter-rail transit station and a plaza connecting the project to the terminal.
Detours on both west and east sides of Level 5 will be in place for about a year.
RTD and the Pikes Peak/Mt. Elbert parking shuttle dropoff and pickup will move to Level 6 East. Taxi, shuttle and limousine passengers will be dropped off at designated median locations on the terminal’s east and west sides at the same location where passengers are picked up instead of at curbside.
DIA will provide additional staff on Level 5 to assist travelers to ease the transition.
The Level 5 detours are the first of several scheduled this summer for the terminal construction project. In early June, routes will change to the passenger pickup and dropoff areas on Levels 4 and 6 on the west side.
